Saved by Starlight by Sara Ivy Hill

“I’m no king, Alara. With you, I am just a worshipper on my knees.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Saved by Starlight is the sixth book of the Warrior Kings of Alioth series by Sara Ivy Hill.

Lena is an incredible woman! She’s kind, compassionate, caring and always ready for help. Even more, I loved her optimistic views and her sunshiny personality. She’s a woman who’s always trying to see the good in people and is ready to face any hardships thrown her way with a smile on her face. Lena is an incredible and pure woman and I loved her so, so much!

And then, we have Lyro! Throughout the stories I’ve always had mixed feelings about him. He was there to help his brothers and their mates but he always had an agenda of his own. Lyro is one dark, intense and cold male. Even more, he’s dangerous, arrogant, possessive and scheming. But Lyro is also misunderstood and there’s another side of him, too – the one of a fierce, caring, protective and thoughtful warrior. Lyro is a complex male with many sides and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!

I absolutely loved everything that happened between Lena and Lyro! Lena is helping the Frathiks revive their species when Lyro crash-lands on their secret hideout. The dark and mysterious Irran has come to “rescue” the Irran Empress’ sister but the sunshiny terrakin is not interested in being rescued at all. Oh, I adored those two together! They were as opposite as night and day, and yet their different personalities fit so well together! I adored their banters, teasings and the constant push and pull. Lyro is a vicious male, but I adored Lena for never giving up on him and having the courage and strength to love him exactly as he is. And we also get to understand why Lyro is the way he is. Even more, as much as Lyro was trying to fight the mate bond, fate cannot be denied. What is meant to be, is meant to be. And when they couldn’t resist the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot and so deliciously naughty! Lena and Lyro were absolutely perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of either of them!

In addition, the storyline was spectacular! So much is happening, difficult choices need to be made and everything is at stake. And I was absolutely glued to the pages till the very end, excited to see how everything will be resolved.

Overall, the story is another magnificent addition to the series and an incredible series finale! It’s filled with suspense, action, danger, twists, humor, drama, scorching-hot passion and remarkable characters.

I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!

P.S. I’m going to miss all the incredible Irran warriors and their wonderful mates, but I’m excited to see what new amazing stories Sara Ivy Hill will share with us.

More Quotes

“You must stay with Lena at all times.”
“Who? Fine. If that’s what it takes.”
“Am I your punishment, Lyro?”
“Apparently.”

“Goddess save me from this terrakin. I take it all back. I have done terrible things, but even I do not deserve this punishment.”
“You think the goddess brought me all the way across the galaxy to punish you?”
“I can think of no other reason why she would burden me with such an insufferable mate.”
“I can think of a million other reasons. To be your friend. Your lover. Your teacher?”
“What do I have to learn from an empty-headed little female like you?”
“Maybe you have things to unlearn.”

“Sleep.”
“Kiss me first. Just one.”
“Never.”

“I don’t like you. I’m obsessed with you. Addicted to you. Unable to breathe when I think of losing you. Sick about what I might have to do to you. Isn’t that enough?”

“I love you.”
“I hate you. I hate how you tame me. The way make me weak. I hate what I would sacrifice for you.”

“I can never get enough of you. It’s like I’m starving no matter how much I consume. I’ve always had at least a pretense of patience, and you’ve destroyed it completely. Destroyed me completely. What am I now, Alara, but your puppet, mere pieces strung together and animated by your will?”

“My body is yours. My heart is yours. My life is yours.”

“You’re worth it.”
“I’m not. But I’m selfish enough to take what you offer me anyway.”

Blurb

The vicious alien warrior hates that we’re fated mates. I think he’d rather kill me than keep me.

LENA: When my sister, Ada, and I were abducted from Earth, my life began. Finally, I found my purpose: help our captors revive their species after a terrible war destroyed their planet. Call it Stockholm syndrome if you want, but they needed me.

So when Ada sends an angry alien warrior to “save” me, I’m not interested. At least, not interested in being rescued. I’m very interested in my cold, handsome rescuer… especially when he recognizes me as his fated mate!

But as romantic as that sounds, I’m a complication he doesn’t want. Every time I look into his piercing eyes, I wonder…. will he learn to love me? Or will he stop at nothing to destroy the fragile bond between us?

LYRO: All my life I’ve been a puppet, used by those whose power exceeded my own: My father, the Emperor. The High Priest who’s eager to take his place. My five brothers, each the ruler of a planet while I have none.

But now that my father’s dead and my oldest brother has taken the throne, I’ve begun to cut my strings. I just have one more mission before I’m free: find her.

My brother wants her because she’s the sister of his queen. The High Priest wants her to use against him. I don’t care either way, as long as I’m through with both of them…

Until the moment I catch her scent and realize the goddess has made me the greatest puppet of all. The little terrakin is my fated mate, and there’s no tether stronger than that bond. No puppet string with greater pull.

Good thing my knife is sharp.
